Just2Go Reusable Lunch Box
A rental system for reusable stainless-steel lunch containers, built to cut single-use plastic waste on campus, funded as the sole finalist in its competition.
NUS alone generates 875 tonnes of single-use plastic waste a year, and 72% of people surveyed at NUS support reducing single-use plastic usage. Nationally, a whopping 473 million disposable plastic items are used every year — one factor that exacerbates the issue is the low recycling rate, at just 6% in 2017.
Just2Go offers stainless-steel containers on a rental system. The project was the sole finalist in its competition and secured funding of 10K–20K for a trial.
