Tent Stay
A low-capex eco-tourism tent resort in Ooty, built with fellow travellers, shut down by COVID after an estimated 5X return was within reach.

An eco-tourism tent-resort venture in Ooty, built with friends who are avid travelers across India.
The capex for this was very low — tents were deployed according to guest numbers to extend their lifespan, portable plastic toilets kept maintenance minimal, and a single built structure doubled as the office and recreation space. Oh, and there was free coffee 24x7. Really good coffee.
We navigated the government processes, procured tents (with WildCraft discounts), and secured a rental location. Then COVID happened and we had to shut it down — we estimated a 5X return had we continued through the revenge-travel demand that followed.
